1 Month Blessing Ceremony

Last weekend we held Abigail's 1 month Blessing Ceremony (Hu plig).  Boy, it was a lot of work.  These Hmong family ceremonies are always a lot of work. But, it is a part of our culture and our religion so I can't escape it.

Our little family.  Poor Zachary was so exhausted because he woke up early with me.  He played all morning and fell asleep during the actual ceremony.  Abby is reaching out for the strings. So cute.

Typical Hmong food: egg rolls, ginger pork, boiled pork with veggies, rice and spicy/sour fungus salad. yummy!

Zachary at the mall

Today, Meng and I took Zachary to the mall for a few hours.  He looked around at all the lights and played a bit in the kids play area.  Poor Zachary needs some playdates.  Whenever he saw other kids he would smile or get curious and start talking.  I always joke that my little Zachary won't ever learn to share because he is the only child right now.

My favorite photo of his smiling face.

I also took some photos of Zachary while we were at my mother's.  They've put up their christmas tree and Zachary loved the lights.  Meng and I are waiting till we paint our apartment this week to put the tree.  I'm excited about finally unpacking and being able to decorate for the holidays, even if it's a little late.  The holidays are always so exciting and costly.  I think I'll keep the tree up till after new years this time.
